PASTOR'S UPDATE SEPTEMBER 22, 2023
Greetings Friendship Family!
This is Pastor Jaron Singley and I greet you in the AWESOME NAME of Jesus Christ our Lord!
Our Senior Pastor, Kenneth C. Curry, Jr. is away this week and has asked me to provide a couple announcements.
But just before I do that, I want to encourage us to SHOW UP and SHOW OUT on Sunday to celebrate our beloved Pastor's 10th Pastoral Anniversary. It is OUR anniversary as Pastor & People!
Our beloved pastor had been there with us and for us during the joyous and the most stressful and difficult times of our lives. When we are in the hospital or dealing with loss, dealing with family issues, or when life requires difficult choices, Pastor Curry is often the first person called. His role as a counselor and a mentor is a vital part of the ministry.
Not only does Pastor Curry preach the WORD on Sunday mornings, but he holds this role 365 days of the year, and this is not a 9 to 5 job. It is not uncommon for him to be called in the middle of the night. And when he is not actively preaching or counseling, he and his lovely wife, Lady Karima Curry live their lives as role models and leaders in the church and in the community.
That’s why God has instructed us to celebrate His servant leaders.
“The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching” (1 Timothy 5:17).
The good news is that we can make a difference! Read more below on how you can bless our beloved Pastor & Lady Curry. See you Sunday!
Now here are these few announcements!

SINGLES CHAT-N-CHEW
Join us for a virtual fellowship on tomorrow, September 23, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. Our "guest" speaker, Sis. Tonya Whiteside of The Whiteside Group, and a beloved member of Friendship Baptist Church, will share with us on how we can begin the journey to Embracing Spiritual Freedom in Christ!
Imagine a life where you are no longer held back by fears, doubts, or limiting beliefs – a life where you are free to accelerate toward your fullest potential and purpose in Christ. Just as a vehicle can't move forward with the brake engaged, our souls are hindered when we cling to resistance and hesitation. Releasing guides you toward greater fulfillment and alignment on your spiritual journey. It's time to Release the Brake Pedal and accelerate toward the abundant and joyous life in Christ which has been prepared especially for you! Go HERE to register.

FAITHFUL GIVING
Lastly, in the last several weeks, I have told the congregation we are in a $200,000 deficit. Our deficit continues, and my team and I are concerned. We need ALL members to continue to be faithful and generous, and we also need you to help encourage the others in our membership and fellowship to do so. We must try and close the gap and raise the budgeted amount by the end of the year. We must raise essentially $1.2M by December 31st. We have a tremendous amount of work to do. You may give HERE.
FUTURE NOW INITIATIVE
Also, please continue to pray for the Future NOW Initiative. God is up to something!
