GENERAL SUMMARY
The role of the Facility Attendant position is to effectively demonstrate a high-level of building
maintenance skills for the entire church campus. To also provide support to church ministries and events by helping to keep the campus clean and welcoming to attendees and guests. When interfacing with the staff, congregation, church visitors, and vendors, one must exhibit a professional relationship and excellent customer service and willingness to serve.

I. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Maintenance Functions- The Facilities Attendant provides maintenance, cleanup, event
preparation as well as light repair etc. This work would include, but not limited to:
  •  Ensuring all facilities and rooms are set up and taken down properly for church activities/events and functions
  •  Supports safety and security for the campus, including parking lots from fire, flood and other hazardous materials
  •  Ensuring all equipment is working properly, help to maintain building furnishings, and operating systems
  •  Maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the facilities (i.e. vacuuming, trash, restrooms, windows and doors, kitchen, classrooms, general cleaning, courtyards, parking lots etc.)
  •  Ensuring that the Church campus is well kept at all times
  •  Opening and closing of all facilities as assigned
  •  Having knowledge of and operation within OSHA and safety requirements
  •  Distributes daily deliveries to church offices and maintenance office
  •  Clears walkways as needed
  • Other projects as assigned or directed

B. Additional Responsibilities
  •  Follow through on all approved facility requests and room set ups in a timely manner
  •  Perform duties as assigned or directed by Facilities Manager or Executive Pastor of Operations, or staff
  •  Adhering to weekly schedules
  •  Follow all policies and procedures regarding meal and breaks
  •  Check and maintain all vending machines
  •  Conduct minor repairs as necessary
  •  Ensure all drains and gutters are clear of debris and free flowing
  •  Ensure recycle bins are emptied on a regular basis
  •  Monitor the bin area and rubbish disposal area to ensure it is kept clear
  •  Monitor the recycling to ensure all the correct waste is going into the correct bins – report any misuse of the recycling
  •  Ensure any food waste area is kept clean
  •  Knowledge of Friendship Baptist Church policies and procedures

II. DESIRED SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE
  • Professional with proven customer service skills and abilities to deal with the public and citizens’ groups to communicate information and promote Friendship
  •  Good organizational, planning, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills
  •  General knowledge of mechanical maintenance required
  •  Must be able to work independently and/or with minimal supervision
  •  Proven ability to follow verbal and written instructions and direction
  •  Ability to operate motorized equipment both indoors and outdoors
  •  Ability to work from heights on aerial work platforms and extension ladders
  •  Must have good hand/eye/foot coordination to operate a various of machinery and equipment
  •  Must have or willing to attain Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  •  Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clear driver’s record

III. QUALIFICATIONS
The qualifications listed below represent the Facilities Attendant’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Further, qualified individuals must hold their church membership with Friendship Baptist Church.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE
  •  High School Diploma
  •  Minimum of 2-3 years of maintenance or handyman related experience in a business or non-profit sector
  •  Computer skills, with proficiency and knowledge of the internet, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Google,
  •  Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills
  •  Organization skills
  •  Must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds
